Abstract

The propagation of Love waves along the surface of an inhomogeneous elastic body of arbitrary shape is studied in the present article. The parabolic-equation method is used to determine the dependence of Love waves on the frequency and position. Formulas for the phase velocities and penetration depths of these waves are obtained.
