Experimental Status of CP Violation in K0 → ππ

Abstract

To the level of precision available in 1985, all observed effects of CP violation (existence of K0 L → ππ and the charge asymmetry in K0 L semileptonic decays) could be explained by the non-zero relative phase of the offdiagonal elements of the hermitian and anti-hermitian part of the K00 mass matrix.
