Abstract

We have now seen what the husbands and wives in our sample have had to say about their views of themselves and each other in their relationships. We have also had the opportunity to observe their interactions while involved in the process of trying to resolve a problem. It is now time to summarize these observations and examine their implications for the understanding of identity and intimacy in marriage.
