Reichmann: After Reichmann’s paper, Beal asked whether the problem of differences in tissue collection, tissue preparation, and analytic technique might provide a possible explanation for the disparity in the results of mitochondrial enzyme studies reported from various laboratories. While these factors might contribute to the results, it was hard to imagine that they could provide a complete explanation.
