Abstract

Let us first make a pragmatic point. Any utterance, no matter how well constructed from a grammarian’s, a logician’s or even a semanticis’a point of view is meaningless for a hearer, unless he can somehow relate it to his own expectations, unless he somehow knows what the piece of information given to him is for.
