In the final lecture of the 6th Conference on Lymphatic Tissues and Germinal Centers in Immune Reactions Sir Gustav Nossal (1) raised the question again: “Where are the T-cell-B-cell interactions going on? How does the architecture of the lymphoid system promote cellular interactions?” Interdigitating cells (IDC) and Langerhans cells (LC) may play such a key-role as an auxiliary cell throughout the T-cell territories of lymphoid tissues (2–4).
