Abstract
My task this morning is to discuss with you the recent Santa Barbara oil spill. To present an unbiased and complete picture of what has been and is happening in Santa Barbara is virtually impossible due to the complexity of the event and the large number of organizations and individuals involved in responding to the disaster. In recent weeks information sources have been drying up, presumably because of the pending litigation. Nevertheless, I will present the facts and opinions as I have been able to learn, admittedly incomplete in certain areas.
