Teaching Nematology: To Read is to Learn

Abstract

Teaching signifies a general function that applies to almost any practice that assists individuals in the development of skills or knowledge. Implicit within this sweeping concept are the functions of instructing, tutoring, training and educating. Instruction involves a systematic organized (often formalistic) method of teaching; tutoring is private instruction or coaching in a particular subject or skill; training implies learning by practice or trial and error; educating suggests a process which imparts of a specific body of knowledge, especially that which equips one to practice a profession and includes an objective, analytical way of reasoning.
