Fybranta(R) — A New Approach to the Treatment of Idiopathic Hypercalciuria
Idiopathic hypercalciuria occurs in approximately 50–60% of patients with urolithiasis1. It has been shown that the stone recurrence rate can be reduced2 in the patients by significantly lowering their urinary calcium. Cellulose phosphate and thiazide diuretics have both been used successfully in the treatment of this condition1,3 They may be associated with side effects1, however, and long-term treatment requires supervision.
