Abstract

Routine examination of urinary calculi without disturbing the crystal structure is performed by x-ray diffraction analysis and IR-spectroscopy. For a better understanding about the conditions leading to the formation of various kinds of stones the aggregation of the individual crystals must be studied with a polarizing microscope.
