Excretion of Tamm-Horsfall Urinary Glycoprotein (Uromucoid) in Renal Calcium Stone Formers
Tamm-Horsfall protein (TH) is a high molecular weight glycoprotein which is excreted in substantial amounts in normal human urine1. TH has been suggested as a possible pathophysiological factor in nephrolithiasis being discussed as a component of the stones2. The purpose of this study was to quantitate TH excretion in stone formers and to study its relationship to renal acidification capacity and urine concentrating ability.
