In the last years growing interest has been focused on the pathogenesis of the glomerular diseases characterized by mesangial IgA deposits. Some pathogenetic mechanisms are common to all these nephropathies, either idiopatic or those associated to systemic disorders. Moreover, the analysis of individual diseases shows that their relative weight may be different, and this allows to consider at the same time at least a few of their pathogenetic mechanisms.
