Treatment of Glomerulonephritis with non Steroidal Antiinflammatory Drugs

Long term experience with anti-inflammatory drugs in the treatment of glomerulonephritis is limited to Indomethacin. The design of the available controlled trials does not permit one to answer the question whether such a treatment modifies the prognosis of glomerulonephritis, but this is suggested by uncontrolled clinical data. Besides the anti-inflammatory activity, it is likely that the decrease in proteinuria and the modification of the glomerular circulation contribute to modify the response of the glomeruli to immunological injury.
