Surface Temperature and Heat Flow Measurement

  • T. Kimber

This is of interest in many applications and is of value for assessing conditions at any accessible locations in others. With surface devices, the usual selection criteria apply as for any other temperature measurement, namely, temperature range to be measured, accuracy, sensitivity, ruggedness and environmental constraints such as sensitivity to substances likely to come into contact with the sensor. Further considerations are thickness and flexibility of the devices as well as heat exchange with the object of measurement and its surroundings.
