The Application of Expert Systems and Computer Simulation Technologies to Process Monitoring and Control

This paper discusses some of the problems associated with the implementation of expert process control systems within complex control environments. Problems associated with knowledge base design are considered and the integration of expert systems and computer simulation techniques is proposed as a solution to some of these problems.
