Abstract

All engineers and engineering technicians have to use technical documentation. Unfortunately this documentation is often missing, not kept up to date, or is in the wrong place for the job being undertaken.

This paper considers the benefits of computerised technical documentation. In particular the MINDS system, which incorporates text retrieval, graphics and artificial intelligence techniques, is evaluated.
