Automatic Environmental Monitoring

  • Andrew T. Dadd

There is an increasing amount of public concern and legislation directed at environmental issues. Particular concern is being directed towards the levels of volatile organic compounds in factory environments.

Long term exposure to these compounds is now known to be harmful, with many organic compounds now regarded as cancer suspect agents. There is clearly a need for:
  1. 1.

    continuous monitoring of the workplace

  2. 2.

a data storage system, to ensure that important information is readily retrievable e.g when alarm levels have been exceeded.
