Abstract

Due to the scarcity of available physiological data, our functional concept of placental insufficency is still very much dependant on theoretical considerations. The following paper deals with a model for the oxygen transport from the spiral artery to the villous capillary based on the cotyledon concept of the human placenta by Freese (1968).
