For the electronic measurement of the decays of the new particles one would like to have a drift chamber with as high a space resolution as possible. Known critical factors are
  1. a.

    the primary ionisation density

  2. b.

    the widening of the tracks due to the range of the knock-on electrons

  3. c.

    the diffusion of the drifting electron in the direction of drift

  4. d.

    the homogeneity of the drift field

  5. e.

    the mechanical accuracy

  6. f.

    the accuracy in timing.
