Studies of p̄p ȲY reactions near threshold offer an excellent opportunity to examine carefully the dynamics of strangeness exchange. In particular, the measurement of differential cross sections, final state polarizations and spin correlations will provide stringent tests of quark and/or meson exchange model calculations of these processes.
