The search for exotic states below the pp̄ threshold has yielded a few candidates for such states. A summary of the experimental situation is shown in Table 1, which is based on the work of eight

different experimental groups. Because of the relatively low level of confidence in these results it would be highly desirable to compare them with new measurements of better statistics and with independent measurements based on techniques hitherto not used.
