The thermodynamics of wetting and spreading in metallic systems has been more extensively studied during the last few years than the respective kinetic problems. Exceptions usually have been limited to studies of the dependence of contact angle upon relative movement between liquid and solid, in circumstances where this relative movement is slow and where a finite contact angle is stable at stationary equilibrium.
