New Direct Spectrophotometric Determination of Aluminum in Steel, Spelter, and Iron Ores

Abstract

A new, improved spectrophotometric method for the direct determination of aluminum in steels, iron ores, and spelter is described. Interference from ferrous iron is prevented by the incorporation of a sulfite in the buffer, and the aluminum complex is enhanced in sensitivity and stability by the addition of polycyclic ketoamine.
