Electronic Phase Null Photometric System of the Series 2000 Infrared Spectrophotometer
A new electronic phase null system has been developed which provides precise measurement of sample-to-reference ratio continuously from fractional to 100% transmittance. The Series 2000 system is based on measurement of the phase angle of algebraically summed sample and reference signals having a 90° phase difference. The system yields high photometric accuracy and reproducibility, even with samples having low infrared transmission. No optical attenuator is used.
