Solid Solutions in A3IIB2V—AIIBVI Systems
Single-phase alloys were obtained in the systems Zn3As2—ZnTe and ZnsAs2—CdTe in the range of compositions from Zn3As2 to 80% Zn3As2-20% (2ZnTe) or (2CdTe). Certain properties suggest that these alloys are substitutional solid solutions. The alloys crystallize with a structure having a face-centered cubic lattice and tetrahedral coordination. However, the structure does not change in a uniform manner from the defect antifluorite-type disordered Zn3As2 to a sphalerite-type structure, indicating the pos-sible existence of compounds of the type A 4 II B 2 V CVI.
