Abstract

In this section the displacements in Love waves generated by a nonstationary asymmetric source in a three-dimensional medium are expressed in terms of the solution of the one-dimensional problem considered in Section 2 (i.e., in terms of the characteristic functions of a Sturm-Liouville operator).
