Purine Salvage Pathway in Leukemic Cells
The availability of purine nucleotides in adequate intracellular concentrations is absolutely necessary for the survival of any animal cell. It is not known whether exogenous purines simply supplement the intracellular pools of purine nucleotides or whether they affect the proliferation in a more complex way1.
