Abstract
Many organization in the past have not appreciated that for a successful implementation of a CAD system it is necessary not only to try and staff at all levels in the organization but to ensure that adequate training time is made available and that it is undertaken away from the trainees and office. From experiences in the installation and training of users in architectural practice into the use of CAD the author identifies the timing and level of training appropriate together with the level of personnel concerned and uses case studies to illustrate his points.
