Transmitter Characteristics of Ultrasound Broad-Band Transducers for Ultrasonic Spectroscopy

Ultrasonic transducers play a major role in ultrasonic diagnosis. Their transfer characteristics and emitted ultrasonic field determine to a considerable degree the quality of A-scans as well as B-scan pictures. For the application of methods of tissue differentiation such as signal processing techniques and ultrasonic spectroscopy, special broad-band transducers with high sensitivity and a known ultrasonic field were developed and their transmitter characteristics were measured.
