The role of the operator in process control systems

  • Fran Jović

There are two trends in the role of an operator in the process control systems: — to use automated process control systems as fully as possible and to decrease the number of operators and the skill required of them; — to collect a broad number of fairly skilled, trained and schooled operators from a ‘field’ operator to a general system operator and process planner, and to support their work by the appropriate process control systems.
