Detailed studies of the level structure of 210Bi can be expected to provide information about the (p,n) interaction in the lead region. Using a 9.0 MeV deuteron beam from the University of Pittsburgh Tandem Accelerator, we have made a study of the reaction 209Bi(d,p)210Bi. A total of 51 levels below 3.4 MeV excitation were seen. Probable spins were assigned on the basis of observed branching ratios and by assuming that all states could be described by available shell model configurations. The observed energies and branching ratios are compared to calculations of Kim and Rasmussen and Kuo and Herling; overall agreement of both quantities is found with the results of Kuo and Herling.
