Clinical and Morphological Aspects in Diagnosis and Prognosis of Vascular Dementia

Abstract

In the so called normal population dementia or organic brain syndrome is present in 4.4–8% (Kay et al. 1970, Broe et al. 1976, Tower 1978). The percentage rises with age from 2.3% (65-69 years) to 22% (80 years and older).
