Recombination and Disproportionation of Free Atoms and Radicals

Abstract

In each elementary act of recombination or disproportionation of free radicals, two active centers are destroyed (two chains are broken under chain-reaction conditions). In the stationary reaction regime, Wi = 2k [X·]2, where k is the rate constant for the reaction of two radicals or atoms X·, Since the quantity 2k is always used in calculations, the quantities listed here in the tables are always these (doubled) values of the reaction rate constants.
