Supergravity and Phenomenology
We present phenomenological applications of the theory of supergravity. Using techniques of dimensional reduction to define an N=8 gravitini model in a d=5 dimensional world from an original supergravity scheme with N=1, d=11, one finally arrives by a factorizing ansatz for the fields at a realistic massive theory of supergravity in 4 dimensions. The covariant quantization of this theory is discussed in some detail. Particular attention is devoted to a new scheme of supersymmetric regularization, which is a modification of ordinary dimensional regularization in which fermions and vector and tensor fields remain 4-dimensional quantities.
