In this talk I want to present to you results1) on the classical structure of a class of two-dimensional field theories which are called the “generalized non-linear a models”. This class originates in the O(N) invariant non-linear a model which has been known for several years in field theory and statistical mechanics (Heisenberg ferromagnet) as well.
