The Biosynthesis of Carbocyclic Compounds

  • D. H. G. Crout

Abstract

The aim of this chapter has been to give a broad picture of the current status of our knowledge of some of the main pathways for the biosynthesis of carbocyclic compounds, covering as many aspects of this topic as possible. Many of the subjects included have been reviewed in detail, and where this is so an attempt has been made to avoid duplication by including only enough background material to make the main discussion intelligible to readers coming fresh to the field.
