Local electric responses in ERG (electroretinogram) and VER (visually evoked responses) are mostly recorded under photopic conditions. Stray light responses, as well as responses of the rod system, can be suppressed with a strong background illumination (Brindley and Westheimer, 1965; Arden and Bankes, 1966; van Lith and Henkes, 1968; Aiba, Alpern and Maaseidvaag, 1967; Jacobson, Kawasaki and Hirose, 1968).
