Genes, Hormones, and Behavioral Critical Periods

Abstract

The mechanisms underlying behavioral critical periods are poorly understood. When placed in the context of biological differentiation, behavioral critical periods may be understandable in terms of differential genic activity. The following two lines of pertinent evidence are reviewed.
