Effect of Thermomechanical Treatment on the Superconducting Properties of Some Nb—Ti Alloys
The effect of final heat treatment on the properties of certain Nb-Ti alloys is studied. The optimum final annealing temperature increasing the value of IK lies between 450 and 500° and between 350 and 400°C for the alloys containing 30 and 50% Ti respectively. The effect of intermediate annealing on the critical current is also considered. It is shown that IK rises from 7 to 20 A in an Nb-50%Ti alloy on carrying out intermediate heat treatment.
