The Membrane of the Hen Erythrocyte as a Model for Studies on Membrane Fusion

Abstract

This paper is primarily concerned with the molecular mechanisms and ultrastructural changes involved in the fusion of hen erythrocytes with one another to produce bi-, tri-and multinucleated cells. Related studies on liposomes and on monomolecular films of lipids and phospholipids will also be discussed.
