The Genetic Basis of the Reorganization of Populations
The first step in the evolutionary process is the origin within a species of biologically specific populations with characteristics that are genetically based. This being the case, it follows that any evolutionary theory should be founded on modern ideas about the laws of the genetic reorganization of populations. It is therefore necessary to preface an analysis of the ecological mechanisms of the evolutionary process with a short sketch of the basic conclusions of population genetics.
