NADH-Ferricyanide Oxidoreductase Activity in Maize Root Cell Plasma Membrane

Abstract

Plasma membranes from maize roots were prepared by two-phase partition (mb.A) (l g of microsomal pellet/15 g of 6.4 % (w/w) Dextran T500, 6,4 % (w/w) polyethylene glycol 4000), or by differential centrifugation, sedimentation through a 30 % sucrose cushion, and washing with Triton X-100 plus KBr (mb. B). Properties of NADH-ferricyanide oxidoreductase activity of these membrane preparations were compared.
