Surface Electron Spectroscopy; Importance of Particle Transport

It was demonstrated that corrections for electron transport are highly important in quantitative analysis of surface electron spectra. This aspect has largely been ignored up to recently [1]. Central quantities are electron scattering cross sections and the path length distribution of emitted electrons.
