A Battle for the Museum Extension

The National Air and Space Museum desperately needed an extension to properly house its collections. Many of the buildings at the Garber Restoration and Storage Facility were unheated, with leaky roofs and nesting birds and insects. The pursuit of the extension, however, was difficult. A fierce competition for ownership ensued and seriously delayed our plans for mounting the exhibition on the Enola Gay.
