Skin Permeability and Models of Percutaneous Absorption

Whilst being continually exposed to a wide variety of chemical and physical insults, skin, which is the largest organ of the body, acts as an effective barrier to these insults. Consequently there are relatively minimal incidences of either local or systemic effects due to such exposure.
