A MICS For γp Determination

A single layer solenoid with an appropriate field uniformity correction has been employed for the low field (about 4 π gauss) determination of γ’p. This method is in general better than a high field determination in computing accurately the magnetic field strength, but it suffers from the difficulty of finding a non-magnetic environment where the earth’s field is sufficiently uniform and quiet. A rather poor signal to noise ratio of the precessional signal is another difficulty.
