Heterogeneity and Circulation of Lymphocytes

Abstract

Over the past decade we have been studying the kinetics, life span and turnover times of the lymphocyte ppopulations in the various hemopoietic organs of the rat using H3-thymidine (TTH) and radioautography. More recently, we have extended these studies to include the exchange of cells between these organs via blood and lymph. A variety of experimental approaches have been used and those concerned with the turnover times of lymphocytes have been given in detail in previous publications. These are summarized briefly in Table I.
