Optical Measurements on Surface Modes in Liquid Helium II
The properties of the surface modes both of the bulk liquid helium II and of the film have been studied theoretically and experimentally by Atkins et a1.1,2 Their measurements, based on the optical detection of the local elevation of the surface, mostly refer to values of the wavelength of 1 mm and above.
