AC Measurements of a Coupling Between Dissipative Heat Flux and Mutual Friction Force in He II

Abstract

Previous measurements on the variation of second-sound velocity in the presence of superfluid vortices suggest the existence of a coupling between the dissipative heat flux and the mutual friction force.1 This paper presents our latest results on the second-sound measurements and preliminary results on the fourth-sound velocity in presence of a supercritical superflow.
