An Attempt to Photograph the Vortex Lattice in Rotating He II

It is by now well established that He II in rotation is threaded by quantized vortex lines.1 It is our intent to establish the spatial distribution of vortices in a rotating cylinder. We are attempting to photograph the vortices using a technique suggested to us by T. M. Sanders.
